Heel Stick-Slip Recurrence
Sit on the floor with legs extended.
Full Lesson Notes
Complete Practice
Sit on the floor with legs extended. Press one heel slowly into the ground, building force gradually, and notice that the leg does not slide forward smoothly — it advances in tiny lurches. Measure the recurrence interval between micro-slips by counting silently, and then to try to lengthen that interval by varying the rate of force buildup. Discover whether smoother loading produces longer sticks or whether the body has a fixed slip threshold regardless of input rate. Challenge: Hard to distinguish micro-slip events from pulse and breath noise without a metronome; counting requires steady attention discipline.
